Tax Form 1099 and Tax Ideas

1099s have been routed through email 📧 to all officials who earned more than $600 💰 in the 2025 tax year. Note they are not available on our site for download this year.

- Soo-Hui and the Zipp's referee groups have been sent through their Mercury payment system
- All other groups on TRG have been routed from Tax1099 (statements@tax1099.com) with subject line: Tax1099 eDelivery Consent by The Referee Group

Check your email for delivery could be in spam/junk but it is there.

🤔 Pro Tip: As an independent contractor take time to research what type of expenses can be used to reduce your tax liability - examples could be your uniform, mileage, fees and other expenses that are utilized as an official and small business owner.

Download The Laws Of The Game 2024/2025.
This is a valuable tool for learning and staying up to date with the current LOTG. Most referees will review questions or concerns at halftime or after a match to clarify questions and uncertainty.

State Cup Rules Highlights

State Cup Rules Highlights: complete rule set linked at bottom

* U12s -- Yes heading is allowed, No Build Out Line, Offside at halfway line, Yes keepers can punt the ball

* Champtionship Cup Matches ONLY U15/16/17/19 -- 7 Substitutes per half, no re-entry same half

* Rosters/Cards MUST be checked: no card no play, all coaches must have card to be in technical area except a Director of Coaching can be present without a card

* Protests -- if a coach opts to protest make note of the time, score and event to add to your Match Report and contact one of our Assignors as soon as possible after the match. If it is something that can potentially be resolved prior to the restart make an effort to reach one of our Assignors.

* Match results translate into points - so be aware that matches could continue to be competitive even in what seems like a blow out. Shutouts are important to teams for an extra point. Goal differential up to ten goals is used to break ties in pool play seedings so you could see a 10-0 result or a team competing for a 10th goal late in the game. Do not consider this trivial - that extra goal could be the difference in a team advancing.

Work hard, do your best and challenge each other as a crew and a team to be your very best. Ask each other at half and after the match 'how did I do' 'could I have done anything better'. Arrive earlier than you normally might and have a quality pregame with your crew. ARs ask questions especially if your Center Referee neglects to have a pregame or cover a specific topic you are concerned about.

State Cup Assignors:
- Peter Maunsell
- Larry Metz
- Sya Magee
- Alexis Johnston
